The service you will work in….

Hestia’s Homelessness Prevention Service provides support to single adults and couples with no dependents who are homeless or at risk of being made homeless within 56 days. This is a payment-by-results scheme where we aim to achieve specific outcomes and prevent homelessness through mediation and sourcing new accommodation.

A day in this role looks like….

As a Team Administrator at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Complex Needs Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

  • Process and reconcile financial transactions, including invoices, Discretionary housing payments and prevention fund payments.
  • Assist in budget tracking and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the team manager, finance team, statutory and non-statutory organisations to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
  • Manage the referral inbox to ensure timely and effective response to incoming emails.
  • Efficiently allocate new referrals in accordance with the SHPS referral criteria to caseworkers.
  • Maintain accurate records of referral data and outcomes.
  • Accurately input and maintain data in databases and spreadsheets.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Identify landlords offering suitable private rented accommodation for our clients at the local housing allowance rate.
  • Negotiating deposits and rental payments
  • Updating our portfolio of accommodation providers and sharing with the team.
  • Ensuring the subscription renewal of accommodation platforms.

We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of passion, expertise, and dedication to the table. To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Proven experience as an Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Can demonstrate knowledge, experience or relevant qualifications of working with housing and homelessness legislation, in relation to private rented housing and the Homelessness Reduction Act.
  • Can demonstrate knowledge in welfare benefits legislation (including welfare reform) to support service users effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • You thrive in negotiating and accomplishing daily outcomes.
  • Be solution focused, proactive and results driven
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Pattern: Flexi (Flexi hours Monday – Friday, Core hours 10am – 4pm, Bank holidays not inclusive in holiday allowance) Full-time, Fixed term contract
Full Time Equivalent Salary: £25,615
