Job Purpose – Overview 

 

The purpose of the Senior Project Manager, Social is to drive department teams, timeline, and delivery across all allocated marketing initiatives within social. This starts by clearly defining the full project plan, connecting with wider project and business stakeholders to ensure that responsibilities are clear and that everyone is targeting the right project goals. As these progress, all initiative steps will need to be closely followed, with clear risk escalation, scenario planning, collaboration and communication to ensure the success of projects.  

 

This role will ensure the best possible outcome for projects both strategically and creatively, by ensuring each phase is handled to best affect, with timings and milestones suitably protected at each stage of the process.  

 

Stakeholder management is a key part of this role, in both bringing together decision making for leadership, as well as raising risks and addressing blockers effectively. To streamline and filter communication to the Head of Project Management, presenting solutions to any potential project issues.  

 

In this role you will have the direct report of a Project Manager, together you will work as a collaborative unit to deliver a vast range of marketing activity. As part of this you will help them with their development, reach planned goals and ensure there is a clear sense of achievement in everything they deliver.  

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • You will own the holistic delivery of key business marketing initiatives – from strategic planning to product launch, guiding and facilitating all steps of the process in an inspiring and collaborative way, ensuring teams are progressing as needed in each area.  

  • You will be responsible for capturing the strategic ambition, deliverables and budget across all areas of your project – in order to understand and bring teams together and decision making according to the project scope.   

  • With your role spanning department wide, you will have the ability to apply your skills across disciplines – while operating at a level that promotes the accountability of others to progress work autonomously, allowing you to maintain full sight of the of work going on across the breadth of initiatives. 

  • You will establish, communicate and drive project milestones – ensuring that all teams are clear on what is expected of them when in good time and progressing as required. 

  • You will coordinate multiple teams for successful delivery – from multiple departments to wider business teams as needed to define what’s truly required to deliver the projects in a lean way, creating core working teams to successfully deliver initiatives.  

  • You will understand the delivery dependencies across all department areas to ensure that all teams receive what’s needed to meet briefs and is delivered at the right time – for wider marketing teams to execute across our global channels.  

  • You will work to protect the core working groups time – keep individuals focused, as well as being able to confidently present creative thinking in wider business meetings. 

  • You will drive decision making with teams and senior leadership – to move initiatives forwards in a productive way. You will confidently identify and address issues and risks, with the ability to find solutions to challenging situations, escalating as required to the Head of Project Management. 

  • Successfully delivery of social content. 

  • Clear processes defined and followed throughout each initiative.  

  • Stakeholders feeling continually informed and led by you.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience Required 

 

  • Solid knowledge of global social platforms, to proactively drive these forward for the business. 

  • Organise and report on complex information, providing clarity on dependencies to teams, as well as facilitating decision making across a broad range of senior stakeholders.  

  • Be an integral part of all stages of highly visible global campaigns, be capable of driving overarching processes and timings across departments, to ensure the best result for the brand. 

  • Capable of driving end to end processes and timings across multiple teams, to ensure the best result for the brand.  

  • Excellent at interrogating strategic briefs, rationalising complex information, providing clarity on dependencies to teams. 

  • Clearly facilitating decision making across a broad range of senior stakeholders. 
  

  • Have the sensibilities of a creative producer and thus be a trusted partner to creative teams.
 
 

  • Proven experience in formal project management roles, ideally working within a similar industry, working closely with creative and marketing teams. Should have experience leading department wide initiatives end to end.  

  • Hold first class interpersonal skills, especially meeting management, facilitation, presentations and written communications. 
 

  • Accountable for delivery of projects on time and on budget by leveraging multiple skill sets, so must be able to understand the needs of each team, then balance these to ensure delivery is running effectively. 
 
  

  • Pro-active and capable of driving the project forwards in a positive way, with a hunger for inspiring change and operational improvement.
 
  

  • Ability to form trusted relationships with stakeholders.
