Job Title: Progress Mentor – 14+ Academies (0.85 FTE)
Salary: Commencing at £19,130 with progression to £20,839 per annum
About the Role

What You Will Do

The main duties of this role will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Give academic and development support and coaching to all learners in the 14+ Academies.
  • To deliver and be responsible for a 14+ Academies form group.
  • To cover lessons on a short-term basis as required.
  • Work hard to develop effective relationships with learners in a variety of ways including role modelling mutual respect and high aspirations. 
  • To assist teaching staff in the classroom by working 1-1 with learners or in small groups.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Experience and knowledge of supporting young people both academically and developmentally, including those aged 14-16.
  • Experience of providing cover in academic subjects
  • Experience and knowledge of teaching/managing behaviour tools and strategies.
  • The ability to form meaningful and impactful relationships quickly.
  • Understanding of barriers to learning and ways to overcome them, including the ability to implement effective interventions.
