We are looking for a Junior Commodity Trader to join the Frontier team, based at Witham St Hughs on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a rare opportunity to enter the fast-moving world of commodity trading, joining a highly motivated established team. Principally managing the inherent risk within the complexities of food and feed supply chains, delivering the needs of both farmer and consumer customers. You will learn risk management practices and controls.

Your Role

As a Junior Commodity Trader your role will involve:

  • Buying and selling grain with external trading businesses and processors to deliver value to Frontier, growing into an expert and increasingly assuming responsibility for managing complex trades
  • Understanding the principals of “replacement trading” to discover and capitalise on value in grain and oilseed markets using market information, tools, and mechanisms
  • Developing relationships to drive successful commercial negotiations with both internal and external customers
  • Monitoring and reporting on trading activity accurately and in a timely manner using in-house systems, Understanding of trade lifecycle and risk controls.
  • Working as part of the Frontier trading team to execute agreed trading and planning strategies by analysing data and information to understand the value creation.
  • Developing an understanding of risk management practices to maximise profitable business.
  • Motivating and communicating with the Frontier Farm Traders to maximise farm origination potential.
