JOB PURPOSE

 

Burberry is seeking to hire an Opex Finance Manager to join the Record to Report team out of the Leeds office. The role requires you to have advanced technical accounting expertise as well as being a strong manager of people who leads on processes and projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • You will be accountable for managing a team of RTR accountants who will service functional and entity specific shared service requirements
  • You will be responsible and accountable for the end-to-end solution and performance of an integrated set of accounting processes
  • You are expected to run an effective and sustainable UK&I team which has the capability to deliver the agreed services now and in the future
  • Ability to manage the various internal and external stakeholders and accompanying change management programmes to oversee successful service delivery
  • You are able to review and approve on your responsible entity, and Head Office entity's transactions, balances and reports
  • Ensure compliance with the Group Policies, including operating of internal controls over financial reporting
  • As a leader, you will ensure that Group Finance, Finance Business Partner, Operations and BBS business goals and performance objectives are reflected and achieved in the process improvement projects and operations of the end-to-end process
  • You’ll set future process and service direction and alignment to BBS customer and business strategies in the UK&I sub-function

PERSONAL PROFILE

 

  • Professional accounting qualification is required e.g. ACA, CA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • You are experienced in compliance, statutory and management accounting. 
  • You possess a strong technical background with experience in a FTSE company applying IFRS  
  • You have worked within a multicurrency environment, analysing and understanding the impact of movements in exchange rates in all areas of income statement
  • You are a proven leader in managing teams and can provide examples of effective leadership and getting the best out of people, including during demanding and unsettling periods of change.
  • Build effective relationships through interpersonal skills and technical expertise to aid cross-functional working, delivery and a sense of collaboration and teamwork.
  • You can operate both at the tactical and, where required, detailed level. Thinks conceptually and identifies and addresses future challenges and opportunities, often in an ambiguous environment. 
  • Displays an affinity for technology’s ability to drive efficiencies and enhance service delivery.
