Overview

Director of SEND – Quality First Education Trust, Belleville Primary School

Job Introduction

Director of SEND

Quality First Education Trust

Part time 2 to 3 days per week, with the option of a full time role.

Leadership Scale L3 to L8 (inner London), full time equivalent salary £58,500 to £65,007 dependent on experience.

Start date September 2024

Quality First Education (Q1E) is looking for someone to lead provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across our trust of four London primary schools. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified SENCO looking to progress in their career and take on a strategic, non-class-based leadership role.

You will support our school-based leaders and SENCOs to enable all pupils to access learning, in order to achieve and succeed. You’ll help train and develop staff to understand different aspects of SEND, support the children’s needs and work collaboratively with parents and carers. You’ll support the development of an excellent trust-wide SEND and Inclusion strategy, and the policies, procedures, systems and structures to support it.

We are looking for someone who:

    Holds the national SENCO (NaSENCO) qualification, or equivalent;

    Is passionate about helping all children achieve and succeed;

    Has knowledge of different aspects of SEND, and experience of developing high quality SEND provision across one or more primary schools;

    Has experience of training and developing teaching and support staff;

    Is able to work well with children, families and staff at all levels.

The Quality First Education (Q1E) Trust is a primary-only multi-academy trust that was established in 2017. We have four schools: Belleville Primary School and Belleville Wix Academy in Battersea/Clapham, The Alton School in Roehampton and Churchfields Primary School in Beckenham.

Q1E offers high quality, well-resourced and carefully structured provision, within an excellent broad and balanced curriculum and fantastic enrichment opportunities. Children achieve well, and learning behaviour is strong. We strive to meet the needs of all children – doing ‘Whatever It Takes’ to help children fulfil their potential.

You will be part of our dynamic, friendly central team (based at our Meteor Street site, SW11 5NZ), but you will work with and support colleagues across all four of our schools so you must be happy to undertake some travelling across south London.

We envisage the role consisting of two or three days per week, depending on the availability of the right candidate. There is the option to work for us full time, by taking on an additional school-based SENDCo role. Please do not hesitate to contact us at recruitment@q1e.org.uk if you have any questions about the role or how it might work for your circumstances.

    It is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity with children.
