Supply Planner – 15 hours part time – Booker Group

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Supply Planner to join Booker, based out of  our Hemel Hempstead site. Joining the wider product supply team, you will take responsibility for achieving and maximising Company product availability targets through careful planning and working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

The working hours for the role are 15 per week, to be worked across three mornings including Friday. More details of the working pattern can be discussed at interview stage. 

  • Optimise service levels to customers within business unit and the supply chain as a whole.
  • Manage a portfolio of Suppliers and small Product Category
  • Achieve stockholding and wastage budgets for own product category and ensure appropriate actions are taken without impacting supply.
  • Daily review for stock shortages, support inbound operations and contacting suppliers.
  • Ensure key issues are communicated to internal stakeholders and support with resolution
  • Forecasting, tracking promotions and products allocations
  • Supporting Seasonal Events and activities
  • Work in partnership with internal stakeholder teams to ensure that trading activities are identified and complement supply chain goals and vice versa.
  • Develop relationships with Suppliers and Consolidators/Hauliers to ensure that inbound supply service levels and supplier constraints are optimised.

To be successful in this role you will have to be an excellent communicator with ability to negotiate and influence at all levels for both internal and external stakeholders.

You will have excellent organisation and time management skills, be able to prioritise and keep to tight deadlines.

You’ll have a strong customer service orientation, good analytical skills, Intermediate/ Advanced knowledge of Excel, strong attention to detail.

Work on your own initiative with a pro-active approach to tasks and be able to think outside the box when it comes to problem solving.

Ideally, you will have had some previous procurement or supply chain/ retail experience and some knowledge of supply chain ordering systems, sales forecasting experience, but full training will be given.

GCSE or equivalent Maths and English grade C or above.

Desirable: Suitable supply chain professional qualification or an interest in studying for one or Educated to degree level

Shift Hours: 15 hrs per week (Three mornings, with one being Friday)
