Make your mark on The French! A very exciting (and rare) opportunity has become available for a Service Lead to join the well-established team at Adam Reid at The French, located in the iconic Midland Hotel. The French is open to guests Wednesday – Saturday: our team work 40 hours across a 4-day week.

In our restaurant, we have a relaxed and food-focused environment: using only the finest seasonal produce available, the food at The French is known across Manchester and beyond for its exquisite flavours.

As Restaurant Manager, you naturally have a positive mind set and are enthusiastic, optimistic and treat everyone with respect. You will work together with the Head Chef to effectively manage the team and The French and ensure that every guest leaves with the desire to return.

Key responsibilities of the Service Lead:

  • Ensures the smooth running of The French, where all aspects of the food & beverage service and guest experience are delivered to the highest levels
  • Works proactively to improve guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timely response to guest enquiries
  • Develops and implements plans where The French initiatives & Midland Hotel targets are achieved
  • Leads and manages The French team, fostering a culture of growth, development and performance within the department
  • Responsible for ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled and that productivity and performance levels are attained
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Establishes and delivers effective programmes that advance service standards, profitability and cost control
  • Ensures adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required

 Requirements of the Service Lead:

  • Proven experience in food & beverage with a strong knowledge and passion for high end restaurant service
  • Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style
  • Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry
  • Ability to find creative solutions, offering advice and recommendations
  • Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy
  • Experienced in using IT systems on various platforms
  • Strong communication skills

Salary: £30,000.00 per Annum
