About us
The position will be based in the Engineering Department at King’s College London. The recently re-founded Department is rapidly expanding into a world-class research and teaching department. It consists of new state-of-the-art lab facilities located in the heart of London. We are a dynamic Department with a diverse team of academics, PDRAs, and PhDs.
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher, holding a PhD degree in engineering or related discipline, that has experience and is interested in developing bespoke assistive technology for people with a limb difference or limb impairment, to enable them to partake in sports.Â

The candidate will work with prosthetic users to develop assistive technology, from e-powered rowing boats, to sport specific prosthetic devices and assistive technology for use in space. PPI engagement and co-creation will be critical during the project.

The project is funded by an Impact Award, and will be located at King’s College London, in collaboration with the University of Bath.

This is a part-time post (averaging 14 hours per week), offered on a fixed term contract until July 2026.
