Recovery Worker – Dover – Dover

£26,000
About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting people to make positive changes in their lives? Do you have experience working within substance misuse services and a genuine commitment to helping individuals achieve their recovery goals?
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our team, delivering person-centred support to adults aged 18 and over who are experiencing challenges relating to drug and/or alcohol use.
Working as part of an integrated healthcare framework, you will provide a range of psychosocial interventions, supporting individuals through their recovery journey. You will take a flexible, person-centred approach, delivering both harm reduction and abstinence-based interventions depending on each individual’s needs, circumstances and aspirations.
You will manage your own caseload, undertaking comprehensive assessments, identifying individual needs and risks, and developing personalised SMART care plans. You will deliver structured one-to-one interventions and facilitate group-work sessions, including structured treatment programmes, using motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behaviour change and empower individuals to take control of their recovery.
Building effective relationships with partner agencies will be an important part of your role. You will work collaboratively with housing, employment, healthcare, probation and other community services to ensure individuals receive holistic support and have access to the opportunities and services they need to make sustainable changes.
You will also contribute to achieving service targets and positive outcomes, ensuring accurate records are maintained and that support is delivered in line with service requirements and local commissioning expectations.
Flexibility is essential, as the role may involve some evening and weekend working. You may also be required, with reasonable notice, to travel to other projects within your service cluster to support continuity of care.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, helping people overcome challenges, build resilience and work towards healthier, more fulfilling futures.
About You
You will be a compassionate, motivated and resilient individual with experience working within substance misuse services and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by people affected by drug and alcohol use.
You will have experience undertaking comprehensive assessments, managing risk and developing SMART care plans that reflect individual needs and recovery goals. Confident in delivering structured one-to-one interventions and facilitating group sessions, you will be able to use motivational interviewing techniques to engage, encourage and empower individuals to make positive changes.
You will understand the importance of a holistic approach to recovery, recognising that individuals may need support with a range of issues, including housing, physical and mental health, employment and wider social needs. You will be confident building positive working relationships with partner agencies and understand the importance of effective partnership working and continuity of care.
With strong communication, organisational and IT skills, you will be able to manage a varied caseload, maintain accurate records and work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
Above all, you will be non-judgemental, approachable and committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, treating everyone with dignity and respect and recognising that every individual’s recovery journey is unique.
