We are looking for a PBS Practitioner that will lead our approach to the use of Positive Behaviour Support and autistic specialist supports for our services in Devon where we are supporting people who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition, associated complex needs and behaviours which may be challenging to others.
The role is critical to Achieve Together’s plans to develop these services to support teams to develop a greater understanding of how and why people may use behaviour, and to think about how by working with people we can plan for supports that reduce the likelihood and impact of this in their lives.

Our perfect candidate would have:

  • Extensive experience working with people with learning disabilities and/or autism who may use behaviours that can challenge.
  • Proven track record of experience of working with people with Autism and learning disabilities and to have qualifications in both PBS and Autism.
  • Experience conducting behavioural assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for individuals presenting with behaviour that can challenge
  • Knowledge of STOMP and its application in the lives of people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Experience of working in a social care setting regulated under the Health and Social care Act 2008.
  • Positive Behavioural Support qualification, level 5 or abov.
  • Qualified to degree level in Autism or with a post graduate Diploma/ Masters in Autism studies.
  • Willingness to travel to services in the area to undertake assessments and reviews.
