The Opportunity

 

We are recruiting for a qualified Occupational Health Advisor (on Part 3 of the register) to join our team on a permanent basis located at Dungeness Power Station. As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will offer a focused driven mind-set for all Occupational Health matters liaising with staff as appropriate. You will provide comprehensive advice and guidance on statutory legislation affecting Occupational Heath for our EDF employees.

  

Pay, benefits and culture 

 

We can offer a competitive salary from £36,894 – £71,779, dependent on experience and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position, but with the opportunity to work 1 day from home if appropriate.

What you will be doing 

 

As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will work with and to our standards also ensuring compliance within Radiation Regulations. You will undertake evidence-based health promotion campaigns, as well as supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of our employees.

 

Roles and responsibilities include:

 

  • Ensure local site Occupational Health Strategy supports the Central Business Plan.
  • Provide Occupational Health advice and guidance to Line Managers on sickness, absence, and rehabilitation issues.  Work closely with HR and the line manager to ensure successful rehabilitation case management of individuals including restrictions of duties.
  • Support, plan, run and evaluate innovative health and wellbeing campaigns at the station
  • Implement, maintain, and comply with OH clinical governance audit and processes including FOM Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS) audits
  • Meet the SLAs / KPIs on time.
  • Attend / contribute to local safety meetings
  • Help maintain Policies / Documents in relation to specialist area of interest
  • Ensure all health surveillance, and business required medicals remain compliant and in date
  • Support drug and alcohol tests for our employees and contractors.
  • Liaise and work with the responsible person(s) to ensure Emergency Medical Response training and staff are compliant with site needs.
  • Undertake Local Audit of service and Treatments provided by EMR

 

 

 Who you are

 

To excel as an Occupational Health Advisor at EDF, we seek individuals who embody a strong foundation in healthcare. As a minimum requirement, you must hold a Registered Nurse qualification with an OH qualification, (OH degree, OH diploma or OH certificate).  To demonstrate your commitment to continuous professional development, your expertise in medical confidentiality, ethics, and accountability will all be essential in providing comprehensive and responsible care to our EDF employees.

 

Experience in audiometry, spirometry, skin surveillance, HAVs assessment, ECG, and Vision screening is desirable, although training will be available. Some knowledge of Radiation and contamination knowledge will be highly valued.

 

Mental Health Awareness, Drugs and Alcohol testing, NEBOSH certification or diploma, and managing health and safety courses will greatly contribute to the well-being of employees and foster a safe work environment.
