We’re looking for freelance Essential Skills Tutors to join us as we embark on an exciting new youth employment contract in Belfast. This is your chance to be part of a purpose-driven organisation, helping young people gain the qualifications and confidence they need to progress into work, training, or further education. You’ll be delivering high-quality Essential Skills sessions in your specialist subject – Literacy / Communication, Numeracy / Application of Number, or ICT -and making a real difference in the local community.

training, helping young people achieve the maths qualifications they need to
unlock future opportunities.
Success in this role looks like: Learners achieving Essential Skills qualifications in Numeracy / Application of Number. Improved learner confidence in practical maths skills. Positive learner progression into work, training, or education.
Your Role: What You’ll Achieve

In this role, you
will:
- (Strategic Direction) Design
and deliver engaging Numeracy learning sessions aligned to the Essential Skills
curriculum. - (Deliver Results) Maximise
learner achievement, retention, and progression through outstanding teaching
and assessment. - (People & Communication) Build
strong learner relationships and maintain effective communication with partners
and stakeholders. - (Get It Right) Maintain
accurate records, ensure compliance, and uphold safeguarding and quality
assurance processes. - (Business Acumen) Adapt delivery to employer needs and local labour market demands.

Who You Are
You’re
an encouraging, skilled educator who knows how to make maths relevant and
engaging. You bring:
- A degree where Mathematics forms at least 50% of the subject studied (e.g., Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics and Economics).
- GCSE (A–C)* or equivalent in English (or Essential Skills Level 2 Communication) and Mathematics (or Essential Skills Level 2 Numeracy).
- A recognised teaching qualification in line with ES Circular 01/12.
- Experience delivering Essential Skills Numeracy / Application of Number.
- A drive to help learners grow in skills, confidence, and opportunities.
