About the role

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and confident Executive Assistant to support our Chief Fundraising and Marketing Officer at Sense. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a senior executive, playing a key role in managing priorities and supporting strategic initiatives.

Reporting directly to the Chief Fundraising and Marketing Officer, you will provide high-quality executive support, ensuring their time, meetings, communications and priorities are managed effectively. You will be much more than a diary manager. We are looking for someone who can anticipate needs, think ahead, build strong relationships and help our Chief Fundraising and Marketing Officer focus on the priorities that will make the greatest difference. You will act as a trusted point of contact for colleagues and stakeholders, using your judgement and initiative to manage competing demands, resolve issues and keep important activities moving forward. You’ll also have the opportunity to support cross-organisational projects and initiatives, helping to coordinate activity, track progress and ensure key actions are delivered.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing a complex diary, coordinating meetings and prioritising competing demands.

  • Planning ahead to anticipate key deadlines, milestones and organisational priorities.

  • Preparing high-quality briefings, presentations, reports and correspondence.

  • Coordinating executive meetings, including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.

  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, building positive and professional relationships.

  • Supporting strategic initiatives and change projects, monitoring progress, actions and risks.

  • Organising wider team meetings and events when required.

  • Managing purchase orders, invoices and relevant budget administration.

  • Handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, streamline ways of working and make effective use of technology.

About you

We need someone who is exceptionally organised, resourceful and comfortable working at a senior level. You will be a natural problem-solver who can confidently manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and stay one step ahead in a busy environment.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience providing executive support at CEO, Director or senior leadership level, ideally within a large or complex organisation.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong written communication skills, including experience preparing professional correspondence, briefings and meeting papers.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Zoom.

  • Experience using AI tools to improve efficiency, productivity and the quality of your work.

Experience within the charity or public sector would be advantageous, but we’re equally interested in candidates who can bring relevant executive support experience from other sectors.
