Warehouse Team Manager – Nights – Booker Distribution

Location: Fareham, Hampshire, PO15 5UB

Shift Hours: 38 hrs per week (5 from 7)

The Warehouse Team Manager plays a key role in supporting the site management team to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the warehouse. The role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of warehouse activities, ensuring operational processes run smoothly and efficiently at all times. The Warehouse Team Manager will lead and support the warehouse team to deliver high levels of service, maintain operational standards, and ensure customer requirements are consistently met.

You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch of goods, maintaining accuracy and compliance with operational procedures at all times. Working within agreed productivity targets and budgetary constraints, you will oversee the day-to-day warehouse operation to ensure service levels are consistently achieved and customer expectations are met.

Through effective leadership and team management, you will drive operational performance, promote best working practices, and ensure resources are utilised efficiently. You will foster a positive, safe, and inclusive working environment by leading on health and safety standards, encouraging employee engagement, and supporting the development of your team. Additionally, you will identify opportunities for continuous improvement, helping to optimise warehouse processes, improve productivity, and contribute to the overall success of the operation along with other team managers.

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations within an FMCG distribution environment
  • Experience supervising or managing warehouse teams in a fast-paced operation
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads effectively
  • Experience coaching, training and developing colleagues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business and operational requirements
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
