About us

We are the Examinations Team. We manage the organisation and operation of over 2,600 invigilated examinations annually for more than 120,000 King’s College London students.
 
We are responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive service that is fit for purpose and evolves constantly to meet the needs of our students. This includes devising and implementing all associated business processes to ensure they are responsive and proactive, and driving a culture of service management and improvement that centres our students at the heart of the service.
 
We are part of the wider Students & Education Directorate, a collection of wide-ranging professional services in place to support King’s students and their education. As a directorate we manage the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so.
 

​About the role

We are recruiting for a flexible and proactive Senior Assessments Officer who will be responsible for the administrative operations of the university’s in-person examinations service. The role holder will work alongside the operational team to ensure the successful delivery of in-person examinations.
 
This is an exciting opportunity for colleagues looking to work closely with students and who wish to utilise their skills and expertise in supporting large-scale exams and complex high-stakes administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • To support and contribute to the work of the Examinations Team in the delivery of effective customer-focused services by:
  • Contribute to the preparation, scheduling and publication of draft and final examination timetables for all annual assessment periods.
  • Ensure Personalised Assessment Arrangement needs are accurately incorporated into examination timetables and associated processes.
  • Assist with the organisation and delivery of large-scale examinations, both on campus and in external venues.
  • Support the recruitment, organisation and training of invigilation staff, working collaboratively with the Examinations Manager and Head of Examination Services.
  • Represent the examinations team across the College and externally, building effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide a comprehensive enquiry service to academic staff, administrative colleagues and students, offering clear guidance on all aspects of examination processes.
  • Provide support to other teams within the Students and Education Directorate as required, undertaking additional duties as reasonably assigned.

This is a full time role offered on an indefinite contract.
