 Compliance Manager – SHEQ Team – NottinghamÂ
Enva is looking for a Compliance Manager to join our SHEQ team. This role is pivotal in ensuring environmental and quality compliance across our operations. You will lead the development and management of compliance frameworks, ensure adherence to UK, European, and international regulations, and drive sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working closely with our Health & Safety Manager, you will help deliver a fully integrated approach to compliance, aligning environmental, quality, and safety standards across all sites.

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Environmental & Quality Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with environmental legislation, including waste classification, pollution control, and site permits.
- Implement, manage, and maintain environmental management systems to meet regulatory and industry standards.
- Support operational teams with quality and environmental best practices.
- Monitor performance, conduct audits, and manage corrective action plans.
- Oversee timely and accurate completion of all regulatory reporting, including Environment Agency returns.
- Enhance quality assurance processes to meet business and customer expectations.
Collaboration with the H&S Team
- Partner with the H&S Manager to deliver a consistent and aligned approach to compliance.
- Support joint audits, risk assessments, and investigations where environmental or quality aspects overlap with safety concerns.
- Align policies, systems, and training with integrated HSEQ objectives.
Training & Awareness
- Deliver training and raise awareness of environmental and quality compliance requirements.
- Promote a culture of compliance, embedding best practice across the business.
General HSEQ Responsibilities
- Take reasonable care of your own health and safety, and that of others.
- Follow all HSEQ policies and procedures, reporting any hazards, incidents, or non-conformities promptly.
- Support continuous improvement across compliance and operational safety.

Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseÂ
- Degree in Environmental Science, Compliance, Quality, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as IEMA, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in environmental and waste management, ideally within manufacturing, heavy industry, or recycling sectors.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and operational compliance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage projects, audits, and training programmes effectively.
