Accounts Assistant – APCOA Ireland

Location: Dublin 12

Salary: €35,000 – €40,000 (DOE)

Hours: 40 hours/week | Type: Full-Time

APCOA is Europe’s largest mobility services provider, operating in 16 countries. In Ireland, we deliver parking and urban hub solutions to both public and private sector clients. We’re now looking for a motivated and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to support our Finance Team based in Dublin 12.

Key Responsibilities:

Client & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and issue monthly financial and performance reports for clients

  • Ensure accuracy by reconciling reports with the general ledger

  • Maintain and manage client ledgers and address any client queries

Month-End Accounts

  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts

  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts

  • Prepare journals and provisions to support month-end close

  • Ensure financial reports are delivered accurately and on time (by day 4 post month-end)

Overheads & Expenses

  • Review monthly overhead costs and compare to budgets

  • Work with departments to understand variances and assist in cost-saving initiatives

  • Process expense payments (cheques, BACS, online banking)

  • Maintain the expense ledger and monitor spend

Process Improvement

  • Identify areas for improving efficiency within finance processes

  • Assist in documenting procedures for internal use and training purposes

  • Support implementation of new systems or improvements to existing workflows

General Finance Admin

  • Manage petty cash and perform bank-related tasks (e.g. cheque lodgements)

  • Provide administrative support to the Financial Controller

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or Accounting Technician

  • 2+ years’ experience in a busy finance or accounts environment

  • High attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and great organisational skills

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Experience with MS Business Central, Tagetik and Cognos TM1
