We have a rare opportunity to join the Cambian Group in a newly established multi-site children’s residential home with educational provisions.As a leader within our specialist mental health services, you will be a significant part of the transformation of the delivery of service and our incredible children’s experiences.We are looking for an Intermediate Children Care Home Manager to assist the General Manager in achieving the aims and objectives within the Statement of Purpose of the Children Care Home and the broader needs of the whole site at Merida.Ideally, the right person will have experience working with children struggling with their mental health, understand the mental health act or are practising within this arena at present.You will be responsible for our 2-bed Intermediate care home. This is an exciting opportunity to support children presenting behaviours deemed too high risk to support in the other homes across the site. They will be supported in this home for a specific length of time to stabilise when in crisis. We may also help young people external to the site while suitable placements are found. This role is a unique opportunity to be involved in the start of a project such as this, as while this is a much-needed service, it is not a service widely available to young people who struggle with their mental health. Your Duties and Responsibilities:· Ensuring that each young person has a plan which reflects their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs and that their plans are regularly reviewed.· Establishing and monitoring high-quality standards of care.· Taking responsibility for progressing any complaints or child protection concerns· Working in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people· Ensuring adequate staffing levels that meet the needs of the home.· Ensuring that budgets are managed effectively, and the use of finances is properly monitored.· To meet the needs of childrenPerson Specification:· Driving License· Childcare legislation and Safeguarding knowledge· Understanding the needs of complex needs Children and, ideally the systems underpinning the mental health act and support functions available to enhance the care for the children in the setting· Ability to manage challenging behaviour· two years of recent experience working with children in a residential care setting or clinical setting· At least one year at a supervisory level· The ability to undertake the necessary training· Experience with children’s mental health and practicesWhat we can offer you as a Children’s High Dependency Unit Manager at Cambian Group· Salary up to £45,000 DOE· Full enhanced children’s and adults DBS paid for by Cambian· Full training provided – 10-day paid intensive induction training course, face-to-face and online learning to support your development· Opportunity to be supported on qualifications to meet your career development· Opportunity to join our management development programme· Free onsite parking, meals and other benefits such as Cycle to Work, Dental plans, Casual Dress, Pension scheme, Car leasing scheme, Cambian Rewards full of discounted restaurants and days out for the family!· The right candidate will have proven experience with Ofsted or other clinical settings.
