We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic Head Chef to support the Executive Head chef and lead our dedicated catering team, who produce outstanding food using the finest and freshest ingredients in this highly prestigious unit. We would also consider aspiring Senior Sous Chefs looking for progression to make a name for themselves within the contract catering industry. Working closely with the Executive Head chef, you will see a wide variety of opportunity, from core pupil feeding to fine dining.

What you’ll be doing

  • The Head Chef assist with planning, organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food ensuring that the company’s reputation for quality is enhanced with customers and clients at all times
  • Taking responsibility for the food production with a hands-on approach
  • Working with the Executive Head Chef and nutritionist to implement balanced menus through centrally and independent driven menu planning and promotions through preferred suppliers
  • Support all aspects of food safety, H&S and COSHH
  • The Head Chef will be required to maintain food monitoring procedures.
  • An awareness of food costs and an ability to maintain budgets.   
  • The Head Chef will plan, organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food ensuring that the company’s reputation for quality is enhanced with customers and clients at all times
  • Taking responsibility for the food production with a hands-on approach
  • Implement balanced menus through centrally and independent driven menu planning and promotions through preferred suppliers
  • Responsible for all aspects of food safety, H&S and COSHH
  • The Head Chef will also be required to implement and maintain food monitoring procedures to facilitate budgetary control and to monitor all costs involved in the kitchen against agreed budgets.
