We have a rare opportunity to join our team in London as Commercial Strategy & Performance Analyst. This role is essential in providing visibility of sales performance trends and store planning capabilities, cultivating strong relationships across the business to support the design and delivery of commercial programmes as well as the development of performance measurement and targeting relating to retail activities.


  • Support the new store project approval process by working with the regional teams and finance to coordinate business planning input and monitoring of the delivery process.
  • Support site data governance activities, continuing to drive best practice in functions and regions in the use of data for analytic and reporting purposes.
  • Provide authoritative store-related data, including option capacity, fixture footprint, and product linear metres – enabling store productivity analysis, the testing of new business initiatives, trend analysis, and store efficiency projects.
  • Research, develop and maintain reporting capability and tools in order to identify optimisation opportunities across the distribution network, analysing data from a range of internal and external sources
  • Support with analysis for project management and implementation of major commercial projects, such as:
    – Cross-functional commercial projects
    – Online to offline deployments
    – Pop up programme coordination and analysis
  • Deliver reports and presentations to inform senior stakeholders on progress across activities and overall performance, and assist in the production of strategic papers in support of Burberry’s commercial planning
  • General support to the Commercial Strategy and Performance team


•    Degree educated
•    Previous experience in a similar Analyst role working with large data sets, possibly in investment banking or consulting role
•    Knowledge of the Retail/Fashion/Luxury industry would be a plus
•    Advanced Excel skills required, proficiency in tools such as Tableau, SQL desirable
•    Strong written and PPT capabilities required, proficiency in tools such as Thinkcell desirable
•    Customer focused with strong commercial awareness
•    Strong financial acumen
•    Excellence in attention to detail
•    Vibrant work ethic
•    Inquisitive, proactive and organised
•    Ability to work across multiple levels and functional areas of the organisation
•    Adaptability
